Herbin was a 17th-century sailor who, from one of his many trips to India, brought to Paris the formulas for the manufacture of sealing wax. From his shop in Paris, Herbin sold inks, calligraphy supplies, pens, sealing wax and seals. The sealing wax that the Herbin company produces today is still renowned for its beauty and durability. The old-world charm evoked by Herbin wax and Seals remains relevant and appreciated.
